Amphibolurus muricatus
Jacky Lizard
At 30cm in length Jacky Lizards are twice the size of the similar looking Mountain Dragon.

Their long tails count for over two-thirds of their total length.

They are also called Jacky Dragons or Tree Dragons, and are found in the dry sclerophyll forests of southeastern Australia.

Their mouths are yellow - as shown here - and they have bands on their tails.

Jacky Lizards are oviparous - that is, they lay eggs.

Their long claws allow them to climb trees, and they are known to run on their hind legs.

These photos were taken in Mt. Wilson and Faulconbridge in the Blue Mountains.
